Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) categorizes body constitution into 2 general umbrellas: Balanced and Imbalanced. The imbalanced consists of 8 body constitution types.


All 9 body constitutions are affected by both inborn and acquired factors. Inborn factors refer to inherited genes from our parents, which make us susceptible to certain diseases. On the other hand, acquired factors vary, depending on our dietary habits, living environment, or emotions, etc.
